7 months old!

This week mommy was too tired and baby was too hot to hassle with outfit change for 7 month pictures. Due to the heat we decided to go to the beach. The little mr was fussy and who wouldn’t be in this 38 degree weather in Cape Town. There was a bit of wind at the beach and we decided to keep him in his Doona. Little mr was not impressed and the look on his face says it all!

Cristiano is now somewhat crawling and very active! We constantly need to keep an eye on him! He jets through the house in his walking ring and pulls on everything and pulls out everything in cupboards. It also looks like 2 top teeth are trying to make its way through. This kid looks so tall and I cannot believe how much he has grown. He clearly has his father’s body build. He is bigger in clothing size on top than bottom.

I still can’t believe my little munchkin is 7months old! Will need to start planning first birthday soon!

Zeitz MOCAA Grand Opening

The highly anticipated opening of the Zeitz MOCAA Museum of contemporary art Africa was happening not too long ago and offered free entry over the Heritage day weekend. We decided to go on the Monday as we had other family commitments the Saturday and Sunday. When we got to the Silo District, the queues were snaking and the wind was quite strong. It was a little annoying to have to stand in the wind with a baby and seeing older people braving the wind to come see the opening. Nonetheless, me and my mother-in-law stood in the line while Marc sat with the baby in the Clock Tower. When we got to the front, Marc was not in the mood for art anymore and me, my mother-in-law and baby decided to continue on our journey. Once inside we were amazed by the space and what they did with an old silo. It was quite full and a tad difficult to maneuver a baby in a pram around, even though our Doona is quite compact. I salut the parents with the bigger prams. Some parents were clever by using their baby carrier instead. When we got to the 6th floor the views were absolutely amazing. The see through glass floor was quite a novelty. After taking some nice pictures, we headed down again. We didn’t get to see all of the exhibits due to the long lines to see them. I think we’ll go on another day to explore the arts. In the meantime, here are some pictures. ☺

Paradise at Sea Pearl Villa

They are busy with renovations at our apartment complex and the drilling is enough to drive anyone insane. I was hoping to go sit at my mother-in-law’s place to get away from it but she was getting ready to go to St Helena Bay. She suggested me and the little one go along for a 2 day break. After checking with daddy if I could take his little one away for 2 days, me and Cristiano were packing for the West Coast!

My mother-in-law’s sister and her husband owns a holiday home in Brittania Bay, St Helena Bay, on the beautiful South African West Coast. Sea Pearl Villa was going to be our home for 2 days where there was nothing but peace, quiet and views for days. Situated a few meters from the beach, all you heard was the waves crashing and endless stretches of ocean. It was 2 days of bliss!

If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind, you have to visit Sea Pearl Villa. Below are some pictures to convince you that this is where your next holiday should be.

Our Baby Shower

Recently my sister hosted my baby shower at the Hillcrest Berry Orchards in Stellenbosch. It was a beautiful day filled with lots of fun, games and laughter with the people that share so much love for our little one.

A big thank you goes out to my sister for putting it all together all the way from Gauteng. Michelle, you are an amazingly loving soul and our baby is privileged to call you his aunty. We would also like to thank Grandparents Hendricks & Grandparents Olivier for all their love and continued support. Uncle Mitch, Uncle Jacques and Uncle Ajith, you have your work cut out for you! This kid will take all the mental and physical stimulation you guys can give! 🙂 Thank you to all the family and friends, near and far, for your continued support. Our little one is blessed to have so many people that love and care for him.

A special thanks to my talented friend and photographer Nicole for the stunning pictures.

Impromptu trip to Camps Bay

Not too long ago my sister-in-law surprised us with a very quick visit. After dropping her at the airport, while driving on the N2, we decided to take it to the beach. Unsure of which beach to go to, we randomly chose Camps Bay. We haven’t been there in a long time!

When we got there the beach was nice and empty (a first for us). We had views for days! Everything was so peaceful and quiet.

The ocean air got hubby hungry quickly and as we were walking down the strip, friendly staff at Mynt Café invited us for breakfast. Now this is my kind of service!  My pregnancy craving is sweet stuff and all I wanted was a pancake, waffle or flapjacks! I ordered the Protein Pancakes which consisted of 4 whey powder pancakes layered with blue berries, banana, mixed nuts and honey. It was divine, just what me and baby more wanted than needed. Hubby got himself an Eggs Benedict. I was too late to take a picture. Pappa bear was hungry. I loved the interior and we received great service. Definitely worth the visit!

After breakfast we took a leisurely stroll back to the car and home. It was just what the soul needed.
